Wood chippers

After a round of pruning you are left with a mountain of branches that takes up space and has nowhere to go. A wood chipper reduces it to a fraction of that volume and turns it into useful chippings for mulching beds, covering paths or feeding the compost heap. It is the sensible alternative to burning waste, increasingly restricted by regulation, and to repeated trips to the recycling centre. There are compact garden models for thin branches and green waste, and professional towable machines for large diameters and continuous work.

How to choose

  • The first criterion is the maximum branch diameter you need to process: below it the machine copes easily, above it will jam.
  • Consider the cutting system: disc blades produce fine, clean chippings, while rotors or drums swallow mixed woody and green material better.
  • If you use it often, hydraulic roller feed saves a great deal of effort and is considerably safer.
  • Look at mobility: wheels, towing hitch and weight decide whether you can move it around the site on your own.

Tecomac distributes FÖRST for intensive professional use and stocks compact models for homeowners. If you only need one for a few days a year, we offer chipper hire in Palafrugell. Blades, spare parts and maintenance are all handled in our own workshop.
