Hustler zero-turn

Zero-turn is simply a different way of driving: each drive wheel has its own transmission and is controlled by levers, so the machine can turn on the spot. That removes the correction manoeuvres and repeated passes a conventional tractor forces on you, and it shows most in gardens full of trees, beds and paths. It is the usual choice for professional gardeners, campsites and grounds maintenance, but also for homeowners with large plots who simply want to finish sooner. Both seated and stand-on models exist, the latter more agile in tight spaces.
How to choose
- Match the deck width to the area, but always check it fits through gates and paths.
- If you will spend hours on board, prioritise comfort: a suspension seat, armrests and good damping.
- Decide whether you need collection, side discharge or mulching, and which attachments you want to fit.
- Count the weekly working hours: they determine the level of machine that genuinely pays for itself.
